👇 Most artists don’t fail because of bad music.
They fail because of bad marketing.
Here are the dos & don’ts of promoting your music on Instagram (from 9+ years coaching artists):

(Note: This covers social media - not playlist pitching, industry outreach, etc.)
🎬 1. Pre-Release Plan
❌ Don't:
• Wait until the song is finished to start posting.
• Not collect fan feedback.
• Not double down on songs that work.
✅ Do:
• Post short song/drop ideas & WIPs.
• Involve your audience - watch how they react.
• Double down on songs that work & create more content by tweaking the top content ideas for music artists in your own style.

🚀 2. Release Day Plan
❌ Don't:
• Treat the release day like the finish line.• Post "Out now!" style content.
• Not getting your fans involved.
✅ Do:
• Treat release day like a launch, not the end.
• Post "Storytelling" style content.
• Involve your fans: Reply to comments as a Reel, go live, reshare fan content, etc.
🔄 3. Post-Release Plan
❌ Don't:
• Stopping promotion after a few days.
• Not creating new edits of their track.
• Not reviewing what worked for their next release.
✅ Do:
• Keep posting - promotion doesn’t end after week one.
• Create new edits: slowed, sped-up, remixes, acoustic, etc. Repackage your track to give it a second life.
• Use what you learned from this release to improve your next release strategy.
🎯 Final Thoughts
